Question

After installing Mandrake 7.2, and loging in (and enjoying my first looks at Linux!!!!!!!!), I have loged out and shut down the system.
However, on my next boot up, the Linux would not accept my login and password. I have changed the passeword with passwd command but still not being able to log in.

How can I override the initial login and password and change it???

Thanking you in advance,

bobirt

are you trying to login as
1)root
2)a user
if 1) then start the boot process and at the prompt enter linux 1 or linux single to take you to single user mode.then at the linux prompt enter passwd root and roots new password.if its a user, boot normal, then login as root and use passwd nameofuser.
