Hi all ive just installed another desktop manager blackbox be compiling and make install now how do i get into it i type blackbox in konsole and it wont go because of KDE is running how do i get rid the the graphical login at the start i just wanna get into command line to blackbox or can i edit the graphical login thing to include blackbox in the little menu?

if you use a grpahical login manager, it *should* be added to the menu on it, to choose which WM you want to use. to change the default one, use 'switchdesk blackbox' you should have that program installed. alternatively you can jkust edit ~/.xinitrc to read

exec blackbox

instead of

exec kde-session

or whatever. if you don't have .xinitrc, use ~/.Xclients-defaults instead. btw blackbox rules. esp w/ Nyz style

sorry i dont understand :( :( umm is there away of getting out of KDE or GNOME and going into command line mode? then i should be able to start it

edit your inittab file to start in runlevel 3 instead of 5...
