KDE & GNOME were up and running and I thought it was time to make a few accurate adjustments - like the 32megSIS 305 video card and the NEC monitor. When box is rebooted, up comes LOCALHOST asking for login & password - but accepts nothing. What to type in? gg

try root
then your password

if that's not working try linux single from the lilo prompt to get a shell then passwd root
