Well, you could actually regard Linuxquestions.org as a collection of solved cases, though presented solutions may not be without pitfalls or be of varying quality: troubleshooting definitely is an Art.

If there's one thing you should take away from my response here, articles like this or this, books like The CompTIA Six-Step Troubleshooting Process, Juniper Netflow documentation or Cisco Press' Troubleshooting Processes for Complex Enterprise Networks or the Wikipedia article on Troubleshooting is this:

Most discussion of troubleshooting, and especially training in formal troubleshooting procedures, tends to be domain specific, even though the basic principles are universally applicable.
At its core you would:
- identify the problem,
- research solutions,
- apply and test,
- document.

*And no, there does not exist a single resource that encompasses all you would want to know about.

Thumbs up

These three resources work wonders:

  1. StartPage.com
  2. Rute User's Tutorial and Exposition
  3. The Debian Administrators Handbook

Linux is very wide, You have to make number of categories according to distro and errors.

If you divide the dictionary category wise, you need to use search function there too to reach to the solution of your problem and if you have to use search then use search now using Google.

and whatever your error is, There is 90% chances that LQ solution may be the first link.

LQ is number one site for solutions of all Linux problems.

If you are seeing LQ as a solution then Google can be your dictionary.

You're very Welcome Bilal,

I hope you do well in your studies and research and I recommend you take the time to read those two book above at your leisure, which will give you a good head start when you come across issues in the future.

And Welcome to LQ!

Kindest regards,
