I guess that would depend on what is hosted. Distros etc would get a lot of attention. Just be sure to let the distros know so they could add you as a torrent mirror.
Yeah true, its just i have a server at the mo that will be pretty dead and was thinking as i know a hell of alot about torrents and trackers then why not set one up .
yes if it had old and current distro ISOs in torrent format, you had better belive it would get a lot of traffic. heck even add a handful of odd apps that are a bit more cumbersom to find on the web even for that matter.
i for one would not only use it, but would reccomend it to everyone i know who is interested or uses linux.
IMHO torrents are the best way to download large files like full distro ISOs, it saves the host site from pushing so much bandwidth up, and allows for the community to really give back.
I would sujest that you have people register, and that you track their ratios. i would sujest at least a 0.5 - 1.0 ratio as a min. standard, and if you really want to push it go for the 1-1 ratio.
i would be in hog heaven if every time i wanted to try out a new distro i knew i could go to 1 place to get a torrent of the ISOs i need/want, etc.
, Well i create Tracker Software So im pretty uptodate with the set up and i run a VERY big torrent site (Not mentioning) and we are big, we had over 1,000registrations in 12hours the otherday because we accidently opened the registration system. This is looking promising I'll get to work on the server and see what i can conjure up .
I will defo be going ahead with this! I have just placed a bid on linuxtorrents.com and am waiting for the owner to get back to me, if i dont get a reply by Tuesday i will settel for some thing else.

LQ ISO currently has BitTorrent links for any ISO that has one (if you see one missing, please use the suggest button). There is also http://www.tlm-project.org/ which only does BT.
