Linux to fix windows
Somehow when i was messing around in windows i accidently converted the disk drive i was using to back up all my files to a dynamic disk. So here i sit with a bassically fresh computer only all of the files i need to restore it are on this "dynamic" "foreign" disk that i cant get access to. Is there a way i can use an on the fly distro such as knoppix to transfer all of the info on this disk over to another?

Yeah, you can use knoppix or kannotix or whatever to fix it. Just not sure how:scratch: . Try googling for a tutorial to use knoppix for recovery.

Yes, Knoppix would be quite good for that. It automatically mounts your drives (whether NTFS or FAT32) and I guess it wouldn't be very hard to copy the files from one drive to the other. Have you got Knoppix yet?
[EDIT] You beat me to it ctkroeker! ;) J_K9 |
Ok that was much less of a problem then i thought. It turns out you have to import a dynamic drive on each new installation of windows. I figured that out right after i posted my question.
