Linux server stopped booting!!


A server we use at work, running Red hat ....i think the latest version. I was doing some small work then reboot it, now its stuck at the init prompt...
i need this to reboot...any suggestions???

What sort of 'work' were you doing before the problem started happening? And what does the computer show when you start up, besides 'an init prompt' ?

I was trying to get the Veritas agent installed, added an entry to etc/hosts and a few other small things. I didn't even get to finish, I rebooted the server because it was completely f*cked up w/ the KVM I was using and the mouse pointer was badly off. Anyway, now it shows that its mounting file systems, and what not. Then says its freeing kernal memory now its just stuck at init2.05b :
