i have two hard drvies. drive C: has windows xp on it and i installed Red Hat on a partition on E:

Now that I look at it I did things stupidly. I used the windows xp disc to format the E: drive into NTFS, then used partition magic to make a partition on E: in ext2 and a swap drive. Anyway, I use GRUB as the bootloader and when i choose to boot up winxp it goes to the boot up screen then it brings me to a screen real quick that says:

'autocheck not found - skipping autocheck'
or something along those lines, then the system reboots.

Anybody have any ideas? and remember that i'm a linux newb :P

without hacks. linux can't mount ( see) NTFS partitions. Use have to compile kernel or use 3rd party tools ( yes...there are open source) to do this.

i've got good news, i booted from the bootmagic rescue disc into xp and now it boots up into xp without going to grub and it now works okay. if i want to boot into linux i use the linux boot disk. unless this could harm the system i am fine with that.

i searched the forums on here for 'autocheck' and that's where i found out how to do it, thanks guys... guess i should use the search option before typing a question.
