Linux Mint 8

Linux Mint is an Ubuntu-based distribution whose goal is to provide a more complete out-of-the-box experience by including browser plugins, media codecs, support for DVD playback, Java and other components. It also adds a custom desktop and menus, several unique configuration tools, and a web-based package installation interface. Linux Mint is compatible with Ubuntu software repositorie

Linux Mint is Ubuntu with green paint, pre-installed multimedia codecs, and rebranded Gimmie. The only difference between them is about 10 minutes worth of downloading and installing stuff - mostly themes.

I used Linux Mint 7 for awhile and it was gorgeous and full-featured and super-easy. I hear the Xfce version (of Linux Mint 7)is awesome too.

I would probably still be using Linux Mint, were it not for the Great Linux Mint Political Train Wreck. I stopped using Linux Mint because the developer asked me to!

altonjone,

OK. You have three posts to LQ. The first:
Q1
You introduced yourself. You were were welcomed. You did not answer.

Ok. All is well and good. Perhaps.

Your second post Q2
You posted an inflammatory comment about linux security, and did not follow it up.

And in your third post: Q3
You make a comment about "Linux Mint" that we already know.

What is the point you are trying to make, or please explain what is your linux-related QUESTION ?

Otherwise, please refrain from posting to this already busy forum with people with real questions that need real answers.

"If you have nothing useful to say, then perhaps it is better to remain silent".

If you are feeling lonely, miserable or lost, then please seek help elsewhere. This is linuxquestions.org not "twitter" or some such rubbish.

Best wishes.
