yes im new to all this wanna try a different os how do i uninstall linux mandrake 7.2 i need step by step on hwere to type the commands and everything please help
Use the Mandrake installation discs to uninstall the system. Boot from the first disc, and click through the installer until you get to the part where you would be setting up the partitions. Just delete the Linux partitions, save the changes so it writes them to the hard-drive, then turn the computer off.
If you are dual booting with Windows on the same drive, you'll prob'ly then need to restore the master boot record on the hard-drive. Either boot with a boot-floppy, or with a rescue disc if it's 2000 or XP. Get to the DOS prompt and run fdisk /mbr .
Depending on what you will be installing next, you might be able to use the new installer to delete the partitions and create new ones.
