Sendmail is an mta (mail transfer agent), not an email client. If you want to send html mail that MS-Outlook will format on screen, you will have to specify the html tags in the body of the message that tell Outlook how you want to see it on screen. Perhaps you could filter the status reports through an html formatter? Don't know specifically what program would do that for you, but you can certainly investigate the options using Google, or even apropos from the command-line.
