Linux Magazine - worth subscribing to?

Just curious, anybody out there subscribe to the Linux Magazine? It looks like it's more geared towards developers and I'm more of an SA-type.

The Linux Journal (which I subscribe to) seems to be better balanced, but I'd like your take on it if you read that other mag.

Thanks

I use to subscribe to Linux Magazine a long time ago.. the only thing I didn't like was that it seemed to be rather small in content each month. It was pretty good, but I've found myself rather reading articles and documents regarding linux online as there seems to be plenty out there and its free too.. :)

I second trickykid, I rarely buy linux magasines anymore simply because the articles rarely come up to the level of information that I can find for free online. (Not just LJ).

I still pick some up now and again (maybe every 3-4 months or so) if there's a specific article that tweaks my interest, but never enough to justify a subscription.

It doesn't help that many of them seem to lean more towards a new user or business slant rather than really interesting geeky stuff...I understand why, but it just doesn't suit me.

Good responses. I just like taking stuff with me when I ride the train or whatever and it's been fun reading the Linux Journal and having folks who seem to know what Linux is, stare at me! :)

Check out a UK publication named Linux Format. I personally like it far better than Linux Magazine or Linux Journal. The only downside is that it's very expensive -- 83.90 GBP (about $130 USD) for 13 issues, but that includes a DVD-ROM crammed with software. I've occasionally seen it at Barnes & Noble here in the states if you'd like to check out an issue.

I agree with Dave Skywatcher the Linux Format is a great magizine. I`m a newbie and I`ve found the tutorials very good. I`ve learned a great deal from them (everything from using cdrecord to beginning phython) Also the cds are a godsend ,especially when you live in the land of dial-up.

Just out of curiousity, where do you online Linux Mag readers get your daily dose of information from? I'd like to add a few more informative Linux sites to my bookmarks.

LinuxToday.com isn't too bad for daily stories.

I also checkout Rootprompt.org and distrowatch.com once in a while.
