Question Linux Live Communication Server?


Hello,

at first, sorry for my bad english

I just want to know if theres any Linux OS matchable with "Microsoft Live Communication Server", because i want to "play" a little to program my own instant messenger for me and some friends (dont tell me "forget it" or somthing, its just for fun ;D)

So im a little boy with some pocket-money and dont want to buy the MS-LCS for 6000€

If any one can help me i would be very happy

PPS: Yes, im knowing the search-button and i also found the "wich software do you want for linux"-thread but im to lazy to click over 167 sites, sorry ._."

that LCS junk can do a whole heap of things, you need to provide more detail about which bit you want to recreate.

i just want to make an instant messenger service for ca 100~200 people and im planning to use an open source messenger and then i only want to "change" it that it will have the "style" that i want and more tasks ect

well if you want an open source IM platform, chekc out jabber / XMPP
