Linux ISO testing

If I were to perform thorough testing on Linux ISO's for a distribution, what would be a good list of things to check for. A checklist to follow to test the ISO.

What are some good ways of testing the ISO to make sure it works well?

I would like to write some sort of a guide on this and am looking for ideas.

The checksum (aka the md5sum) is the usual test. I assume that you are talking about downloaded isos? http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...iewcat&catid=8 has the info on this.

And welcome to LQ

What if I wanted to get more detailed than that?

Say I wanted to help out with a distribution, by unit testing their ISO's?

Thank you for the welcome.

You'd need to contact the distribution team and offer support in beta testing and other testing.
