Linux / Irix Compatibility - Remote Shells & Telneting

Hello! Does anyone know to what extent Linux and IRIX are compatible as far as remote shells go?

For instance, you can telnet to a system running IRIX (from an IRIX machine) ... and pull up the toolchest from the other computer. You can also remotely run various GUI-based programs.

Does anyone know if you can do this if you telnet from a Linux machine to an IRIX machine?

Thanks for your help!

Yes that's possible. It's just like telnetting to any host. Oh, SSH is better though, cuz it doesn't send yer passwd cleartext over the 'net...
