On the other hand, sendmail and similar products are MTAs and aren't the easiest products to install/configure. Depending on your requirements you'll need additional software. |
Zimbra is complete and easy to setup. (uses Posfix, Spamassassin, ClamAV, etc in the backend)
Zimbra on CentOS how-to Open-Xchange is another option Roll your own using Postfix, Cyrus IMAP/POP, etc.. Virtual users with Postfix MySQL on CentOS virtual users and domains postfix courier mysql centos |
Thanks
Dear Linuxians,
Thanks for your quick reply on this post. I was not aware of mentioned software such as exim and X-echange. However it seems that some products testing is needed. A+ Dilbert137 |
my postfix server has been up for 5 years.. only being shut down once when we moved offices.. It's a LOT more stable than MS Exchange imho.
Comcast the Cable ISP is switching it's users to Zimbra.. is that enough testing ? http://news.cnet.com/2100-1032_3-6181737.html http://www.zimbra.com/blog/archives/...messaging.html Not sure what you want.. do a bit of searching you will find HUGE universities that are using distributed postfix installations for thousands of users. |
Hi farslayer,
Thanks for your advice. On my side i'm searching an internal mail not a mail to send message from outside as we have already in the company MDeamon software. However it's my old postoffice on NT4 which must be replaced by another system which will be his equivalent on linux. Best Regards Dilbert137 |
