Linux Install

Hello there !
I've got Mandrake 9.0 and a PC with celeron 1.1 Ghz, motherboard Asus TUSL2-C, 128Mb SDRAM, ATI Radeon 9000, and HDD 20 Go empty (Quantum Fireball : fdisk + format ).
I boot on CD1 and whatever install type, it stop at line :
Partition check:
hda:
After few seconds, CDROM stop reading and nothing arrive.
I try with another HDD ( Samsung 20 Go ) with partition or without, and the same problem appear.

Please help me

Did you check to make sure all your hardware is supported? Off the top of my head, I would imagine it is, but it never hurts to double check.

This happens on both the expert and recomended install?
Did you make sure the jumpers are correct on the drive?

That's all I can think of right now.

You don't give the make of HD - have you Googled or been to the Mandy website to check that you don't need to do anything extra? You may also need a switch for a celeron in the install (I think).
