linux in Mac


how do you install linux in an Ibook, can it be done?
need help.

Look for PPC (PowerPC) versions of Distributions. x86 versions won't work.

A search at Distrowatch.com should yeild results.

same here

I just bought an iBook and have wondered the same thing... Or even if Linux is the best solution... I've heard from MAC friends that Linux is probably not what I need to go with... Thoughts? that google links definitely helps, but it's good to have some other thoughts...

Distribution: Debian Etch, on 686 machine.

All the major distros have mac ppc version:

Suse
Fedora
Debian
Ubuntu
Mandriva

and yellow dog is only for ppc (mac) machines.
