Linux in a nutshell is more of a reference book, use it when you need help on a command, its like a bunch of man pages put together with chapters on Vi and Emacs, Running Linux is better to read, although i just read sections of it when i wanted to know something. Also if you are running a "GUI distro" such as RH or Mandy, the book is not much help since it shows you how to modify config files, but in those distros the config files are not in "usual" places and you have to use GUI tools to change them, but still, the book is great.

I just got Linux in a Nutshell coz people here told me it was good for newbies, but oh well, I guess it will be useful, I'll read my "Running Linux" then.
It is good for newbies, just a different style of book. Consider "Running ..." to be like a textbook and "... Nutshell" like a dictionary or encyclopedia. You need them both.
