shouldn't the title has been "Linus gave us ...." His name isn't linux and the kernel didn't give itself to us.

Yeah, its 6am and drunk again...... however those lyrics go.

btw, 2.4.x kernel how long will keep up developed?

I'm going to guess that 2.4.x will around till it hits between 2.4.40 and 2.4.50

yeah, 2.2.x is still getting updates. My guess is it will die when 2.8 comes out, so if they always keep the same amount of kernels getting updates out there, 2.4.x would fall off when 2.10.x comes out.
Of course if something awesome happens and 3.x.x comes out, a couple of those might go.
