sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree - That works like a charm if you are in ubuntu. No need to do anything else.
You may try to install the same via yum if you are on Fedora, not sure though whether that works. --Dipu ------------------ Linux = Powerful! |

Guys, he ran an rpm file. Slackware is tgz based and Ubuntu is deb based. OP- go to /usr/lib/firefox/plugins and tell us which files you have in there. If the rpm isn't working, grab the .tar.gz file and install it using those instructions. You could also go back to the Adobe page and follow the instructions for Yum which will make the install even easier.

Then he can't say we didn't help!

Firefox 3 might not be in /usr/lib/firefox. That version wants to place itself in ~ and that is probably where it is unless he did something manually (or unless his repository has it and did something different).

Then you need to follow the advice shown for rpm based distros (including the Yum advice)
|
u want me to run
#yum install flash-plugin |
Did you add the repository as per the advice on Adobe's site? If not, do that before running the command.
