linux create user account

I'm trying very hard to create a new user account on my linux system but it isn't working very well. I'm using suse 9.1 pro.

1. How do I create another account with root rights (besides the account root), and how do i test whether the rights work.
adduser deus

2. How can i view the user accounts on the system.

3. How can i view the groups on the system.

4. How can i see which user is in which group and which rights does the user have.

Many thanx for those who are able to explain these questions.

Deus

"usermod -g root (username)" should work

1.
Technically: give it an userid 0.
In practice: you probably don't want to do that. Instead familiarize yourself with sudo.

2.
Code:
less /etc/passwd
3. & 4.
Code:
less /etc/group
4...
User has access to all files in his uid and access to files which belong to the same
group as user belongs.
