I was wondering if its possible to make a ditribution of linux to set it up how one likes it like wallpapers and all the applications installed and then make a backup copy. So that you can install that exact same OS on a different computer with the same settings and applications that u backed up? I know in windows there is such a option....
There may be a way to save your installation settings at the end of the install. For example, on Mandrake you can save the settings to a floppy, and then reload them when starting a new install. Things like the wallpaper settings are saved in one's home directory. Perhaps you will need to add items to the skeleton directory that is used when creating a new account. Maybe even create your own skel package. This way the settings will be applied to every new user account.
The documentation for automating installations are normally accessible in a PDF or text file on the first installation disk.
