Linux Alarm Clock??

My alarm clock just broke last night I know several ways to set windows up to get my ass up in the morning, but not linux. I havent booted to windows ('cept for the wife) in over a week and would like to see how long I can keep it that way. But, I do need to wake up in the morning for work!!

Does anyone know of an app that could get me up? Even a simple script to cause XMMS to play a certain mp3 at a certain time would be cool. Whatever.

Thanks!

You could use 'at' to call mpg123 to play a file.

'man at' for details

the 'at' command will cause the specified action to take place only once.

cron would be preffered for an alarm clock as it will happen forever when specified (ie every day at 6:30 AM forever) and is highy configurable.

Thats what I need. I did get at setup for now, but I will look at cron and see about getting it set up.

Thanks
