Angry libmp3lame.so where do I get it please for Audacity

ISSUE IS NOW RESOLVED.
Thanks to all.
http://www.vogelefamily.info/xandros....97-1_i386.deb
Rpm worked straight of.

Regards Graeam

I am using Exandros 3. I have been using Open Source but am just about to shut down and reinstall Xandros desktop OS Version 3 Delux.
I am very pleased with this product and am already a registered user at 39 USD per year with them. Helps with instilation of most things.
I have successfully installed the Audacity RPM using the Exandros networks. [A Debaian or RPM file is easily instaled on Xandros by this means as long as you have all the dependancies ready to go and prearranged,[Is it neccissarry in the correct order of instilation to work? beginner here and still learning]
To convert to MP3 I need to set up LAMEs [libmp3lam.so ] Found the set up files at LAME , but cant instal the tar file. [Dont know how, and that is if I,ve got the right one.]http://lame.sourceforge.net/download/download.html Then how do I instal the file.
Thanks for any help, and regards to you all.
I,ll be of air for a while as I,ll be busy reinstalling. I have tried nearly every Open source magazine issue distros, and at one stage paid 172 aud for SUSE Pro [didnt lke it, but Linux has come a long way snce then] this Xandros is the one for me, usuability, basic help and programs provided with easy instilation. Find the Exandros explorer type view, capabiulities to read ALL file systems just what I need. Great for saving any sus hardrives too.

Debian repository

If i understand your posting right, you can install debian packages on your distro? If so, try to install it from debian-multimedia.org (or better one of its mirrors, you'll find the list on the site). Look for lame, this should solve your issue.
