Question Learning LNX

I am very new to the world of Linux. I wonder if anyone could direct me to sites/reading materials or suggest the best way to learn and use Linux 9. I just installed it on P3-600 with Win2K-serv(multiboot)(2 different HDDs).I know my way around in WinXXs but I am totally green in Linux.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
NB: pl. bear with me if I make any mistakes here as I am new here as well.

I suggest getting the O'reilly books for the software you want to use. And if using RedHat get the "Red Hat Linux 9 Bible" as well. It will get you started on your journey.

1. Search this site, tons of information and solutions and maybe www.google.com/linux
2. Read lots on the internet like www.tldp.org
3. Look into getting a book, maybe distro specific or just Linux in General. It can help you out with a reference always near by if you have no internet access.
4. Never refer to it as Linux 9, always refer to your distribution (ex: Redhat, Mandrake, etc) and version your using; or your only going to confuse others.

well now we know how double posting occurs. You're proxy says there was an error... you hit reload, browser resends form data and viola!... double post... damnit!

Thank you all for the very prompt response. I am feeling a little lost here in Linux9(except for the screen Layout with a semblence to XP).
Thanks pcghost,trickykid and jpbarto.
I am just now connected to internet but cannot seem to be able to connect to my other PCs yet. I am still trying.

If you're green on commands, you can also try Unix Made Easy by Muster. It's a great intro for nix environments.

Thanks for responding. I have 5PCs. The one with RH9 (HDD1-hda1) has Win2KSrv(HDD2-hdb5), both masters. Two others are running Win 2K(pro), one running Win XP and the last one either win98 or WinME(swappable HDDs). All are connected through a router(wired) and a Hub.
I am sure the connections are good.
Win2Ksrv works well on the PC though my multi-boot setup did not work as I have hda1 for RH9 and hdb5 for 2KS(I have 4 physical HDDs in that PC-with 2 of them partitioned)). I understand the mistake now, ie I should have had 2ksrv first before installing RH9. I think it is fixable problem though I am not up to it yet.
I am sure it is my fault in trying to think in terms of Win network. I have given(RH9) the PC ids under 'users' and DHCP is enabled.
I will appreciate any instructions on the set up until I locate a list of commands somewhere.
This is not critical as I still have a serverwhich is fully operational if mounted as the primary master.
My idea is to migrate to RH9, if I can learn it, and quit using Win2k as my server.
I am totally a green with no knowledge of even the basics.
Thanks for the patience and understanding.
Attn: Plisken..
I could not find a place to specify the subnet under either DNS or Hosts(in NWconfig) or Users and Groups.
I am sorry to ask you to spoonfeed me, but where would I find the subnet ID listed?
Thanks.

Look just go to this link the Redhat 9.0 manual is at the redhat site quite wasting time searching google. I did that and learned not much then I went to the Redhat website and found the manual then it took me about 2 hours and had apache webserver up telnet up and ftp up. Know had problems with Samba but that is a different story. Only search google.com when you need a specific program.........

look here is the site to the redhat 9.0 manual. best to look over the getting started and customization guides.

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/

have fun know and quite ponding the keys or your face will turn red.....

Thank you ckone. I have done that as well.
Finding where things are is the big problem for me. I have not gotten out of the mindset of WINDOWS yet.
Thanks for the help.
