Launch File in Run Command Prompt

I know how to launch files (e.g. file.sh or file.run) in a terminal or by opening them through a file manager but I was curious how I could run a file from any location in the Run Command Prompt.(Alt+f2) I swear I've done it before but I forget how I did it.
