Last login record

I want to see the last login record, I run "lastb -R" , it pops "lastb: /var/log/btmp: No such file or directory
Perhaps this file was removed by the operator to prevent logging lastb info. how can I fix it ? thx.

How about "touch /var/log/btmp(; chmod 0600 /var/log/btmp)" ?

Try these commands :

touch btmp

chmod 600 btmp

chown root.utmp btmp

lastb
