Labeling to Backup Media

Dear Friends,

I want to give Labling to my Backup Media ( backup media is any One like Tape drive etc. ) at Time of Archiving in Linux system.

How can i do this ?

Are you referring to keeping a database of what is on each tape that you have on hand with what is backed up on it? This just comes down to what type of tape library you have, if the software you use can read barcodes off the tapes.. etc.
