Kubuntu/WinXP - HELP!!!
Hi Peeps,
I recently installed both Kubuntu 11.04 and WinXP on my system.
(I started with WinXP and then added Kubuntu) - worked like a gem for weeks up until a few minutes ago.
Here's what recently happened:
When I originally formatted my partitions, I assigned 60GB for WinXP and 2GB for what I would assign as a swap.
Because my swap partition wasn't big enough, I downloaded Minitool partition and resized my WinXP and swap partitions only. (Added 2 GB of swap at the expense of WinXP).
The software had to reboot the system in order to perform the resize - so far, everything was cool.
The problem:
After it rebooted to complete the resize, I got my usual GRUB screen.
I selected WinXP, it freezes there for about a minute, gives me a message that it can't boot windows xp, and brings me back to my main screen (Where I choose my OS).
Work I put in:
I booted back into linux and grub wasn't changed at all (As I expected).
I loaded the disk management utility, and it confirmed that the partition that windows was on was not re-assigned to another drive.
From what I conclude, I believe that the problem lies between the GRUB and the windows boot sequence. I just don't know where!
Please help.
