Kubuntu - unexpected auto reboot

I have been using kubuntu for a while now. On Saturday, I walked by my office door and noticed my system was rebooting. Thought it was fluke at first. Before that reboot my system had been up for 41 days. Today I come home from work and I am greeted by the login screen, when I left home this morning my desktop was up. So I started looking at the system logs. I found that the reboot was done by a anacron event. Funny thing is I have never used anacron. So I just unistalled it. I am wondering how this happens? How does an event just get scheduled? I am behind I firewall. I have also scanned for rootkits and I have strong passwords. Should I be worried about compromise? Here is a copy of some of the log file.

08/06/2007 07:36:11 AM boosted anacron[29972] Job `cron.daily' terminated

08/06/2007 07:36:11 AM boosted anacron[29972] Normal exit (1 job run)

08/06/2007 07:36:11 AM boosted syslogd 1.4.1#20ubuntu4 restart.

Thanks for any help.
