Could somebody tell me what the word 'stalled' means in the context of torrent clients? I am using KTorrent and when I load a torrent into it so that KTorrent begins downloading the associated file it may be hours and hours displaying that word in the column 'status'. That is, he says 'status= stalled'. Thanks in advance.

"Stalled" simply means the torrent is active, but you're not getting anything, at least in ktorrent. This could be because there are no sources that have what you want, or they're all busy uploading to others, or possibly because you have connection problems of some kind.

Start by ensuring that it's not being blocked by your firewall or something. Try enabling the unPnp portmapping plugin for a start. Otherwise, just be patient. If there aren't many peers available, it can sometimes take a long time for you to get anything. And sometimes there just aren't any sources at all and you're just out of luck.
