Question Know More about Linux


I used Windows XP yet now. Yesterday i try to Install Redhat 9 but it aborted after completion of more than 80% of installation. This message printed also.

There was an error installing kdelibs-3.1-10
The can indicate media failure, lack of disk space,
and/or hardware problems. The is a fatal error and
your install will be aborted. Please verify your
media and try your install again.

the system rebooting there after. in my computer one partition already loaded windows xp. i tried the non dos partion area. i can't create 3 drives. finaly i am not create the boot drive. i have no idea about this.


please help me to tell

1. the latest version of Linux
2. how to install it.
3. i am a stock market Trader. our old trading software running in Windows Xp. Linux based will launch near. so i need windows xp also now.
4. i am ready for the new partition and all for a speedy linux network

please help me

relax man

repartition your drive with PartitionMagic - U need to have at least 1Gb for your root partition and some swap space and when you come to the toint of selecting software to install DON'T select ALL packages %-) it is way to much then U nees write now try to start with KDE workstation !!!ONLY!!! try to find out what is all about and then make your desision
about latest version - hard question - you'll get the answer later %-)

Hi,

You can go to this site to know more about the different Linux distros and pick one that could suit you.

Some are suitable for desktop use, others for servers, some are easier to set up than others.
I am afraid you can install quickly, but to know the proper use of Linux will take you some time,
depending on your willingness to learn..
