Well, got home and saw KNOPPIX-6.2 on distrowatch
so got the english cd
and burned it
I first booted to ram off cd
and encountered a "bug"
well, maybe an omission of information...
Seems when using toram option
the usb installer quits saying it can't find /boot/isolinux/isolinux.cfg
so, dont use toram when booting off cd if you wanna
install frugal to usb
I rebooted and didnt do toram
and the usb installer worked OK!
(note- still no graphical boot menu)
there is also a hd installer
doing that tomorrow....
after initally booting off usb
it asked if I wanted to make a persistent knoppix img
on usb
cool...
I mistakenly entered 500MB and it didnt work
although it also didnt tell me anything...
anyway I rebooted and entered just 500
which worked...
So, I started customizing LXDE and got flash and some audio stuff...
knoppix has synaptic now and is basically Debian Live...?
