kernel parameter and laptop

To whom it may concern:

It took so long for me to find out kernel boot parameter(s) on my laptop. And I could not find any nice place to look for.

Here, I post my system, symptoms and parameter(s).

Toshiba Satellite A100-ST2311, Debian (sarge etch) kernel 2.6.15 -> 23. Problem is random USB lockup. Following parameters solved the situation. "noapic pci=noacpi" noapic alone took care of USB issue, but wireless dies.

Hope this helps somebody.

If anybody has trouble with HP Pavilion DV9225US laptop, this page may help. http://www.stearns.org/doc/hp-dv9225us-fedora-6.html

Happy Penguins!

P.S. Can everybody add info here? So that many penguins will spend less time in future.

Sure. Look under the HCL button (at the top of the screen) for your specific hardware and read the information there. If you discover something like the kaz2100 did, and it's not already reported, post it there so others can find it. (F.Y.I.: HCL is an acronym of "Hardware Compatibility List")
