kernel panic no init found
ok. i have this humongous problem. i have redhat 9 installed on a partition on my HDD. on this HDD I also have a file-storage partition and a windows XP Pro partition, dual boot. my problem is that linux has been working fine, no problem at all. today, i deleted windows xp and reinstalled it. i installed it to the exact same partition, without touching the linux partitions. now when i try to start linux (from boot floppy) it does whatever it has always done in the beginning and then ends with something like:
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel
i have no idea what might have caused this. i've been using linux for about 2 years, but am still a skilled noob. anyone have any idea of what might have happened or a solution to the problem?
