Kernel panic can't mount root partition

I have a machine with 2 OS-es:
Windows /dev/sdb1
Linux /dev/sdb2

In LILO it was written in this fashion and worked fine. But then I replugged the disks and now they are:

Windows /dev/sda1
Linux /dev/sda2

I changed the data in fstab, but still it panics. To my surprise, Windows loads correctly. Is it possible to make Linux load correctly without replugging the disks?

Have you also changed /etc/lilo.conf and re-run Lilo?

No, cause I can't run Linux now.

Of course you can. Just use a live-CD or the install disk of your distro, nothing more is needed. If you need help with editing the files and running lilo from a live-CD I can help you with that process.

Great, I used the install CD and now everything works. Thx.
