Help me....I'm using a Twinhead Slimnote VXe notebook...in which I installed Windows 2000 and RedHat 7.1 (dualboot). The Redhat is a partitionless install, and everytime I wanted to access linux, I have to use the bootdisk. But this is not the problem...the problem is, recently something is wrong with my kernel (which is version 2.4.2) and I had downloaded a new kernel version 2.4.4...I had taken all the steps in compiling the new kernel (which I put in /usr/src) and finally produced the image, which I copied to the /boot partition with the name mykernel-2.4.4. I had edited /etc/lilo.conf so that it contains the below information:
Then I ran /sbin/lilo command. No errors came out, so I thought all was well. Wrong....when I rebooted and came to this part:
I put the parameter 'new' so that it will use the new image...but an error came out saying that the image cannot be found
(...why is this? I have since recompiled and followed each steps in countless how-tos...but still with the same error...somebody help me please..
