kernel 2.6.8.1 and SMP

Hi,

I compiled kernel 2.6.8.1 from sources with SMP support but everytime I start up my computer with Hyperthreading enabled I see a blank screen.

But when I disable HT from bios then kernel starts up.

someone told me it's probably something to do with the schedular
when I start up without HT it says
"Using Anticipatory Schedular"
and with HT nothing happens, I check in the xconfig, there is nothing about any schedular there so I think you cant change?
