Kernel 2.6.19.1 framebuffer support

I compiled vesa fram buffered support along with vga framebuffered support in my 2.6.19.1 kernel.

I can only get an 800x600 text console (with the cool penguin).

Using the 1024x768 console mode in Lilo configuration only defaults back to 800x600. I can't get any higher than that, it defaults back every time.

Anyone have any ideas?

This is Slackware 11.0 with v2.6.19.1

Its an nVidia Geforce MX-400. 1024x768 framebuffered console was working in linux-2.4.3.33, the default slackware v2.4 installation kernel. It was working perfectly, but will not do any better than 800x600 with v2.6
