Kernel 2.4, stable?

I've heard that 2.4 is unstable compared to 2.6. Can anyone validate or refute that claim?

I wouldn't say that it is unstable. I do find the 2.6 kernels to be significantly faster though. Especially under X windows.

Kernel 2.4 is more stable than 2.6. I don't think many people would argue with me about that. 2.4 is currently on version 25, while 2.6 is on version 3. So, kernel 2.4 has been around longer and is stable. 2.6 has newer features and is getting better with each release.

I agree with m_yates. Business houses will continue to use 2.4 till 2.6 has been around for a while .. a year atleast :).
