kernal settings

i realize that this is a pretty rudimentary question but how do i view all the current settings of my kernal without making any modifications to it. i just want to look. thanks ahead of time.

Open up the kernel .config file in a text editor. You might have to search for it in suse, in slack it's /usr/src/linux/.config.

I don't hav this file in /proc

where can i find it??

you should have them available as /boot/config-x.y.z maybe. most redhat and mandrake rpm's put them there.

cd /usr/src/linux , make oldconfig , make menuconfig and just look at everything that is currently compiled.
