Keeping remote desktop apps active after logout?

Currently using XDMCP to make a remote desktop session.

This works great but all the GUI apps, well the whole gui session I run close when I close the connection. In my case I want to keep one of the GUI apps running as I need to access it remotely.

This is really frustrating and I'm open to options as to how I can achieve this result.

Thanks,
