Question KDE3 Clock display annoynace

I'm running KDE3, and am being driven crazy by my clock's annoying glitch. I'm using the clock in "plain" mode with my taskbar set as "Tiny", and every time the clock string gets longer (i.e. 10:00 pm is longer than 4:00 am), the clock switches to two lines. The problem is, since my taskbar is tiny, two lines means the clock gets cut off and isn't readable. If I try to move the clock, it goes back down to one line -- cutting off part of the "am" or "pm" at the end. This happens with or without the system tray next to it.

Is there a solution to this annoyance other than switching to a different clock style? All I want is a fixed-length clock that's big enough to accomodate all the times.

Try right clicking on the clock and choosing "Time & Date Format". In there you should be able to set the time format to "HH:MM:SS" then 5am should appear as "05" and there should be no difference in length.
