KDE Menu - what is "Enable launch feedback"?

In the KDE menu editor, when editing an item, there is a "Enable launch feedback" checkbox. sometimes, when this is checked, it seems to create a ghost application in the taskbar with a spinning hourglass that eventually goes away.

waht does this do? why does it do that weird hourglass thing for some apps (ex: GVim)? how do i know which programs to enable it for?

thanks,

~ Justin

This is eye candy. When you click to start a program KDE will then spin an hourglass for a set period of time.
