KDE Font Problem
The first time I went into KDE everything worked perfectly. However, the second time and on I started to experience huge problems with fonts.
The default font for almost every KDE application was some unreadable cursive font. On top of that, most of the other fonts look completely distorted either with letters on top of each other or waaay too far apart. Fonts in gnome programs (such as gaim and even mozilla) are HUGE. ANY IDEAS? Im about to go insane. Ive tried 3 versions of KDE with the same problem. I am running RedHat 7.2 but had the same problem on 7.1. |
Have you got a windows partition?

Forget about the windows fonts!
I need to get the KDE and gnome fonts working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Have a look in the KDE control center under "look and feel".

OK! I sort of got my windows fonts working and got the gnome fonts down to a reasonable size.
NOW the problem is that the windows & kde fonts only work when I am logged in as root. Any ideas anyone on what to do about that? |
Do what you did as root while logged in to your user account.

Once you have installed the fonts as root all you need to do as a user is go to the fonts section in look and feel in the kde control panel and select the fonts you want to use.
