KDE customisation?
Hi, this might sound kinda trivial - and maybe it is, but the colour scheme in kde has always annoyed me. While it is possible to change the style and colour of just about every component in KDE, it seems this is not so easy with the KDE task bar and the k appliaction menu itself. Does anyone know if there is a way to change the colour of these?
I know for the task bar you can pick an image, but not all of these work very well - and there doesn't seem to be a vast selection of images readily avaiable. Besides which they still leave a nasty grey band at the top and bottom of the task bar. I would like it better if I could just completely change the colour of the task bar and the kmenu/application completely. Is this possible or not? Best regards, GJ |
Get the latest and go (fake) transparent... Get's rid of the grey at least...

And the latest is 3.2.3? I have that... But I'm not a huge fan of too much transparency.
Is that the only way to do this? GJ |
IT's an easy way. It's a fake tranparency and just copies the backgroud image. What this means tho is you could just use gimp to make a custom desktop bacground image and have a solid background or whatever for the kicker bar. It doesn't help the K menu and stuff, but I run mosfet's liquid theme to jaz them up a bit.
