KDE apps in GNOME

Hi, I use GNOME as my desktop environment and prefer it over KDE. However, there are some apps whiich require KDE to run (k3b, rosegarden). I'm running gentoo at the moment and only have gnome installed. When I was running MDK I had gnome and kde installed and i could choose between either environment at start up and any KDE apps could be opened within GNOME. What are the minimum elements of KDE that I need to install to be able to run KDE apps within GNOME. I don't want to ever boot into KDE so surely there is a large portion of the KDE files I can avoid installing. If anyone could help me out I would very much appreciate it. The main app I'm trying to run in GNOME is Rosegarden. I can provide a list of KDE elements so if someone could tell me what are the vital ones for running kde apps within GNOME.

emerge --pretend kdelibs

if all it will merge is kde libs then grab that and you should be able to use apps like k3b, and other. On my fedora box that's all I needed to run kde apps os kdelibs.
