KDE 3.2 won't start as user now....
 
I installed some programs like gimp, xine, tried getting samba and cups to work. Then I restarted X and now kde does not want to finish loading. It stops at 0%. I am a linux newb and have no idea on how to fix it without reformatting...

KDE works just fine in root though.

Any suggestions?

curious. Remove what you installed, OR reinstall KDE.

What Distro is it?

It happend to me one time,I installed something as root and some files ended up in my home folder so I lost permissions to it.Moved that stuff out as root and then I could log in again,david
