Hi again, just to tell you Mandrake 8.0 & 8.1 users to watch out if you want to install KDE 3.0 I have noted the following bugs:
1 ) you can no longer use the Kdeprintafax front end to efax
2 ) from time to time it can not find Kedit when trying to edit a script
3 ) some of you icons will disapear
4 ) sometimes it forget you have a keyboard ( the keayboard becomes inactive ) then you have to re-start X-Server
The Icons that are distrospecific will disappear if you just grab KDE3 from a mirror. I got it from Suse for Suse and the Suseicons aren't there.
The other stuff i dom't know about - already got rid of KDE3.
I haven't ever upgraded *just* a window manager or anything. Usually I will wait til my fav Distro puts out a newer version and then jump on that. Mandrake 9.0 here we come.
I got the suse release of it and I have no complaints. Sure half of the suse apps the came with the original dist don't work anymore but that was to be expected.
